There’s currently discussions taking place within the Opposition Alliance among the leaders of the various parties that make up the Alliance, with one of the topics of conversation evidently being around how close allies of Salvador Nasralla, the Alliance’s leader, can get into the various parties that make up the Alliance.
It’s being reported by La Prensa that Nasralla’s allies haven’t gotten much of a response from LIBRE but have been welcomed into the Party of Innovation and Unity (PINU). Virgilio Padilla is a congressman who was with the Anti-Corruption Party (PAC, the party led by Nasralla) will be running as a member of PINU, and Bartolo Fuentes who has been associated with LIBRE in the past will be running as a member of PINU seeking a congressional seat.
Some members of LIBRE are frustrated by alleged attempts by former President Zelaya to pressure them into accepting allies of Nasralla’s into the party. Despite these frustrations its worth noting that in Roatan, Quimistan, and Petoa, alliances have been reported by the secretary of the commission of electoral affairs, Oscar Rivera, a congressman from LIBRE.
